SKIN AND BODY REJUVINATION

DERMAMELAN® DEPIGMENTATION

OUR TREATMENTS

Skin pigmentation can be in the form of sun spots and freckles, and unfortunately, are very common in Australia as we live under a reduced ozone layer, leading to more UV radiation reaching us. Another type of skin pigmentation is hormone-related pigmentation, and this can be difficult to deal with when it involves the deeper skin layer.

Dermamelan can be used for many indications including:

  • Melasma (hormonal pigmentation)

  • Lentigos, sunspots and freckles

  • Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation

  • Acne scarring and discoloration

  • Improvement in skin tone and texture

  • Overall brightening and refinement of the skin

What Does It Involve

Dermamelan by Mesoestetic is a clinical topical treatment specifically formulated to not only depigment the skin at surface level but also treat underlying causes. This effectively removes and lightens dark patches, resulting in a brighter, smoother and more even complexion.

Dermamelan is a full treatment course consisting of the in-clinic treatment mask, home care products for the 12-week duration of treatment as well as regular in-clinic follow up appointments.

FAQ

  • Dermamelan is a highly controlled procedure with minimal risk. While the downtime can be significant and may feel intense for some individuals, this reaction is normal and not considered a complication of the treatment.

There are specific circumstances in which Dermamelan may not be suitable. These will be thoroughly reviewed and discussed during your consultation with one of our cosmetic doctors or dermal therapists.

You will not be eligible for Dermamelan treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have taken Roaccutane within the past six months, have an active infection or open wounds, are experiencing a herpes simplex (cold sore) outbreak, have a recent sunburn, are allergic to aspirin or salicylates, are prone to keloid scarring, or have recently undergone a cosmetic procedure.

  • Most individuals see noticeable results after just one session. Achieving lasting improvement depends on following the recommended at-home skincare routine (provided during treatment), maintaining regular care, and avoiding sun exposure, known melasma triggers, and ensuring daily use of a broad-spectrum sunscreen.

Some clients benefit most from a repeat treatment at the six-month mark, though annual maintenance sessions are also effective. As skin reacts differently from person to person, treatment plans should be tailored accordingly.

Keep in mind that melasma—being a hormone-related pigmentation disorder—is a chronic condition that cannot be permanently cured. However, Dermamelan can help manage and minimise its appearance, as long as clients avoid factors that can worsen it.
