Ultraformer III is a non-invasive skin tightening treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy at specific and precise depths, to contract existing collagen fibres and promote long term stimulation of new and stronger collagen production to tightening and lift the skin.
Ultraformer III stimulates collagen growth by strengthening the deep structural skin fibres with ultrasound energy. As we age, collagen loses its elasticity and its ability to hold the facial skin structure. The focused ultrasound energy creates bulk heating which results in immediate fibre contraction, tightening and lifting. Collagen fibres are made of protein and when heated the protein immediately contracts. This heating also results in typical wound injury in the deeper cells which releases growth factors that results in extra fibre collagen growth as well as producing a healthier and more supportive fluid interstitial matrix (DNA).

Prior to any treatment, a full consultation is required with our cosmetic clinician to determine whether this treatment is suitable for you.
Following your facial cleanse, the area to be treated is then mark out so that the ultrasound waves are concentrated into that area. Ultrasonic gel is applied and the machine is glided over the skin, while pulses of energy are sent to specific depths of tissue. As the device passes over the area, it is normal to feel immediate tightening of the skin and some warmth.
The degree of discomfort basically depends on the amount of heat. The degree of heat required for optimal results may cause some discomfort as the ultrasound energy is delivered. Oral or other analgesia will be suggested to by your clinician in the initial consultation.
It is recommended that the initial 3-4 sessions are spaced every 12 weeks to achieve optimal results, with 6 monthly treatments to continue improving skin quality.

The Ultaformer III treatment cannot be performed with the below contraindication’s and must be disclosed to your clinician during consultation:
An implanted electrical device (ie pacemaker)
Those who have embedded silicon, metal plates etc.
Active systemic or local skin disease that may alter wound healing
Acne in area to be treated
Those who may have a fever
Open wounds, infections or lesions in area to be treated
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding

Immediately after your treatment the skin may appear flush and warm, slight swelling , tingling or tenderness for 3-7 days after treatment. Every individual has varied recovery time.
Some other rare and uncommon side effects may include:
Prolonged tingling
Temporary bruising
Welts
Burns
If a motor nerve has become inflamed, you might experience some temporary local muscle weakness. There could be some temporary numbness if a sensory nerve has become inflamed. However, due to Ultraformer’s precision engineering, it is highly unlikely that either of these complications will occur.
