Ultraformer III is a focused-ultrasound technology commonly discussed within the HIFU category.

The Ultraformer III specifically uses Micro and Macro Focused Ultrasound, allowing different cartridges and depths to be selected according to the treatment area.

Prior to any treatment, a full consultation is required with our cosmetic clinician to determine whether this treatment is suitable for you.

Following your facial cleanse, the area to be treated is then mark out so that the ultrasound waves are concentrated into that area. Ultrasonic gel is applied and the machine is glided over the skin, while pulses of energy are sent to specific depths of tissue. As the device passes over the area, it is normal to feel immediate tightening of the skin and some warmth.

The degree of discomfort basically depends on the amount of heat. The degree of heat required for optimal results may cause some discomfort as the ultrasound energy is delivered. Oral or other analgesia will be suggested to by your clinician in the initial consultation.

It is recommended that the initial 3-4 sessions are spaced every 12 weeks to achieve optimal results, with 6 monthly treatments to continue improving skin quality.

The Ultaformer III treatment cannot be performed with the below contraindication’s and must be disclosed to your clinician during consultation:

• An implanted electrical device (ie pacemaker)

• Those who have embedded silicon, metal plates etc.

• Active systemic or local skin disease that may alter wound healing

• Acne in area to be treated

• Those who may have a fever

• Open wounds, infections or lesions in area to be treated

• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding

Our clinicians will disclose all the contraindications during your initial consultation.

Immediately after your treatment the skin may appear flush and warm, slight swelling , tingling or tenderness for 3-7 days after treatment. Every individual has varied recovery time.

Some other rare and uncommon side effects may include:

• Prolonged tingling

• Temporary bruising

• Welts

• Burns

• If a motor nerve has become inflamed, you might experience some temporary local muscle weakness. There could be some temporary numbness if a sensory nerve has become inflamed. However, due to Ultraformer’s precision engineering, it is highly unlikely that either of these complications will occur.

Depending on your anatomy and suitability, areas may include the:

• Lower face

• Submental area

• Neck

• Brow and selected eye areas

• Selected areas of the body

Ultraformer may be considered for patients experiencing early to moderate changes in firmness, facial contour or skin laxity who do not require or are not seeking surgical correction.

Suitability depends on anatomy rather than age alone.

Sensation varies considerably between patients and treatment areas.

You may experience brief heat, tingling, prickling or deeper sensations as ultrasound energy is delivered.

Treatment parameters are individually selected according to the area being treated.

Ultraformer is a progressive treatment.

Some patients may notice an early tightening effect, while collagen remodelling continues over the following weeks and months.

Your final outcome should therefore not be judged immediately after your appointment.

There is no fixed duration for every patient.

Age, genetics, skin quality, lifestyle and the natural ageing process all influence longevity.

Ultraformer does not stop ageing, and maintenance recommendations are individualised.

Suitability may be affected by certain medical conditions, implanted medical devices, active infection or inflammation in the treatment area, pregnancy, previous procedures and other individual factors.
